Columbus Issue 1. The Sierra Club’s local Ready for 100 Campaign was responsible for getting this issue on the ballot. It would allow community aggregation for purchasing electric service. That is, Columbus residents would be able to purchase their electricity from a green, renewable source, with the City being able to aggregate their purchasing power to get a better rate. By default, people who have not chosen an electric supplier would go into the aggregation. Anyone can change their electric supplier at any time. Columbus’ mayor and City Council favor Issue 1.
Issue 1 is good news for those of us that want our electricity to come from renewable energy sources. Please make your voice heard at the ballot box.
