Buy Nothing Day Meets #GivingTuesday

“With the emergence of Buy Nothing Day, Small Business Saturday, Shop for Good Sunday, Giving Tuesday (11-27) and the newly launched Make SMTHNG Week, more people are starting to counter rampant consumerism or put their dollars towards a good cause.” ~ Ecowatch

Simply Living has been a leader for 26 years in challenging the Black Friday mentality that whips up a trillion dollar frenzy of holiday shopping. It’s bad for the planet as well as our mental health – the annual happiness index has been falling since 1956, the height of the consumer culture.

On this #GivingTuesday you have many opportunities to “donate for good.” Please consider donating to Simply Living this year to help us establish our new Expand Community Outreach (ECO) fund. This fund is dedicated to promoting our sustainability programs in every neighborhood and community in Central Ohio. If you have attended one of our Documentary Films and Local Solutions events or participated in an Earth Institute course, you have experienced their power to move people emotionally and commit to the transition from the consumer culture to an ecological culture. Your contribution to our ECO fund will help Simply Living reach out to many more thousands of people in central Ohio.

Donate any amount. You can even make your gift a monthly donation.
