Catherine Zimmerman is an award-winning director of photography who is celebrating her 43rd year as a documentary filmmaker, focusing on education and environmental issues.

Simply Living is teaming up with @gatewayfilmcenter to present "Future Weather" + a Q&A with the filmmaker next Saturday, May 14th from 2-4pm! 🎟 Ticket proceeds benefit Simply Living and Columbus School for Girls’ Sustainability Club 🌱
"Future Weather" was an Official Selection of Tribeca Film Festival 2012. The story follows a teenage loner who becomes obsessed with ecological disaster, forcing her and her grandmother to rethink their futures. Climate science becomes the backdrop as we examine the intertwining lives of three generations of women.
Stay after the screening for a discussion with the film’s writer, director and producer, Jenny Deller, and additional panelists on climate change, youth activism and how environmental justice has evolved over the past decade. Deller will give a brief preview her new project, The Imposter, set to film in Columbus next year.

Franklin county residents can get $25- $50 towards native plants, shrubs, and trees through the Community Backyards Program after completion of a brief backyard conservation course! 🌟The online course is AVAILABLE NOW🌟 and in-person courses are available throughout the summer--stay tuned 👀 or visit CommunityBackyards.org to learn more!
The Community Backyards program is born of the partnership between Columbus GreenSpot and Franklin Soil & Water Conservation District to promote stormwater education within Franklin County. They promote the use of rain barrels and rain gardens, while introducing residents to backyard conservation practices including composting, using native plants and trees in the landscape, and responsible lawn care.
