City Folks Has a New Name & Location
City Folks General Store (formerly City Folk’s Farm Shop) is a locally rooted market, garden center, and homesteading supply store built around urban farming, sustainable living, and local food. More than a shop, it’s a community hub, a place where neighbors gather to grow their own food, learn new skills, and connect with each other, backed by knowledgeable staff and an unequaled selection of goods.

Owner Paisley Nash-Dooley has run City Folks for the past 9 years, connecting city dwellers with the goods, services, information, and people that make urban farming and sustainable living possible. The store itself has been a fixture in Clintonville for 14 years and recently moved to a new home at 4522 Indianola Ave, Columbus, Ohio 43214 (614-946-5553 text or call; email info@cityfolksfarmshop.com).

It has a new name reflecting a broader mission: to be a true general store for the neighborhood. The move was highlighted recently in the Clintonville Spotlight.
City Folks carries backyard animal feed and equipment, gardening tools and supplies, homesteading products, and local foods. Whether you’re growing tomatoes on your patio or tending a city plot complete with vegetables, bees, and chickens, City Folks has what you need.

Rather than offering formal classes, it brings learning right to the aisles, with in-store demos and visiting guest educators sharing their skills & knowledge throughout the year.
Homesteading Swap
It also hosts a Homesteading Swap every third Saturday, year-round. Bring your extras, produce, plants, baked goods, canned goods, tea blends, and a little of everything else and swap with your neighbors. It’s a great way to learn from others and connect with the community.
Supplies
City Folks General Store sells backyard animal feed grains, gardening tools, soil amendments, seeds, and a wide array of homesteading products. It’s also a refillery, where customers can refill their own containers with dish soap, hand soap, laundry powder, and dishwasher powder.

It sells Epsom salt, shea butter, coconut oil, cocoa butter, washing soda, olive oil, and sweet almond oil. For the animals, it offers oyster shell, bird seed, mealworms, and chicken scratch.
Most items are locally or American-made, chosen with community and craftsmanship in mind. It prioritizes sustainable products and zero- or low-waste options wherever possible, and the online store offers rain barrels, composting tumblers and crocks, worm factories and worm castings, and hemp bedding.
Local Food
Discover the freshest local food, sourced directly from the farm! Enjoy quality eggs, meat and dairy, while supporting local growers. Pick up kombucha (in reusable bottles), loose tea, and locally roasted coffee in-store, or place an order from one of their participating partner farms and select City Folks as your pickup location.

Order from multiple farms and collect it all in one stop. Participating farms include Sweet Grass Dairy, Nate’s Naturals, Everyday Acres, Truest Farms, WIT Farm, and The Frazee’s Farm.
Grown in Columbus
There’s more! City Folks General Store is also a founding member of Grown in Columbus, celebrating and promoting the vibrant network of growers, makers, retailers, service providers, educators, and community organizers in and around Clintonville, with links to a wide range of local businesses and organizations.
