Trash Party is a grassroots volunteer organization in Columbus that transforms neighborhood cleanup efforts into community celebrations. Founded by Collin Marshall, it has grown into a group of 30-40 residents that regularly gathers most weekends from 9 am to noon to remove litter, tires, & bulk items from local parks, ravines, & vulnerable city spaces.
The group has removed nearly 60,000 pounds of trash. It focuses on cleaning floodplain areas and other litter-heavy spaces around Columbus. Volunteers are provided cleanup supplies, such as bags and grabbers, and are encouraged to socialize during the events.
The Mission
The idea is simple: get people outside and make cleaning fun. The group’s mission: to make a visible difference while bringing people together.
With all the support & love the group has received from the community, and with many local partnerships with businesses and other organizations starting to take shape, they’re excited about their future.
