See the Learn section and make plans to see The Future of Energy at Studio 35. Will Petrik of the Yes We Can Coalition will be the guest speaker for a group meet at the Simply Living office on Weds 3/21.  Lily Kunning is still doing workshops at The Preserve on Calumet, and we’ve added her latest. Sustainability through Reinvention is the signature event for the Environmental Professionals Network at OSU in April. Not to be missed!

See the News section and find two “ads” for SL members. A couple is seekingpartners to purchase 5 acres of country in the city, and another seeks to rent rooms from an empty nester. Green on the Green on May 5 has added some new features and seeks vendors. March Green Drinks will be at the Grange Audubon next week. The Drawdown EcoChallenge is a brilliant collaboration between the Paul Hawken research project and the Northwest Earth Institute. PLUS, Simply Living’s Book Club has selected Drawdown as its next book selection! Two statewide conferences in Columbus in April – Move To Amend andSPAN Ohio.

See the Community section for Columbus Underground’s Mega Weekend!  The First Annual Spring POWWOW gives the public an opportunity to engage with our Native American community. Did you hear about the the New Columbus Metro Park opening this year in NE Cbus? It promises to be our local Hocking Hills experience. The Care & Share Time Bank is offering a special Orientation in March and there are links to their brochure and the full updated Directory of Services!

See the Arts & Culture section for local entertainment events!  The awesomeBluesSwing band is doing a benefit concert for SPAN Ohio. It’s the last weekend to see Beyond Therapy at the Civic Theater. In addition to plays at the Short North Stage – one on MLK and the other: HAIR! – I added some more local plays at MadLab, CATCO, Eclipse, and Shadowbox!  Hear some great Irish music by the Amhrain Band at Java Central.  Rita Carnevale has moved her TranceDance to a new larger venue. Lots more music coming up from Bohemian Highway, Dave Hawkins, Tom Rush, and the Folk Ramblers. Go deep with Monsters of the Unconscious presented by the Jung Association.

SEE the Local Foods section and plan to attend We Dig Ohio 2018 Urban Agriculture and Community Garden Summit right here at the Franklin Park Conservatory. Heirloom Seed Kits for kids are still available from Interfaith Power & Light. OSU’s Food for Thought event is hosting an open discussion on food animal production. Vegan Eriyah Flynn will be on the panel.  March 24 is a busy day at Stratford Ecological Center – 5 events include organic gardening workshops, a Seed Swap, and workshops to help you Start Seedlings and Go Native with plants in your yard.
