Simply Living – 26th Annual Meeting

Carol Fisher Civic Engagement Award and Outstanding Volunteer Award

(Columbus, OH) Simply Living will hold its 26th Annual Meeting on Saturday, February 24 from 2:00 – 5:00 PM at the First Unitarian Universalist Church, 93 W Weisheimer Rd, Columbus, 43214

All are welcome! The event is free, but please register on Eventbrite (www.eventbrite.com). Come meet our board members and say hello to friends old and new. Let’s continue our tradition of being known as “the Best Potluck in Town,” this year featuring soup, bread and desserts. Bring your favorite, plan to share and enjoy!

Third Annual Carol Fisher Award for Civic Engagement

This is an annual award recognizing outstanding civic leadership in the central Ohio community. The award will be presented to honor the legacy of Carol Fisher, whose work inspired so many within Simply Living as well as the larger Central Ohio community.

The award highlights the need to transition from the global consumer culture to an ecological culture rooted in community, and all that entails. The award will be given to Simply Living hero, Karyn Deibel.

New this Year: Outstanding Volunteer Award

Simply Living, has always had a corp of dedicated volunteers that has made its work possible. Volunteers have aided in all aspects of the organization, from office management to the newsletter to tabling at events. The Volunteer Award will be presented to Vilvi Vannak.

In addition to the awards, we will hear about the Care and Share Timebank, a system of service exchange. The event will also include a brief update of the current status of Simply Living and an opportunity to learn about future plans.

Founded in 1992, Simply Living is a community organization that celebrates and connects people to learning opportunities that promote community sustainability, environmental awareness and our local economy through educational outreach and partnerships within our community
