Paris to Pittsburgh + Panel/Q&A on Green New Deal
May 26 @ 2:00 pm - 4:30 pmDonation
Come see how cities around the country are taking action to address the climate crisis. Stay for the Panel Discussion/Q&A to learn how Columbus is responding and will benefit from a local Green New Deal.
“Paris to Pittsburgh reveals the inspiring steps communities across the country are taking to confront the severe health and economic threats posed by climate change,” said Geoff Daniels, of National Geographic. “From innovative ways to improve our food supply chain through Fleet Farming, parking lots shaded by solar paneled roofs to passionate college students making an impact in sustainable energy jobs, this documentary provides a hopeful roadmap for the future.”
The film was produced by Radical Media and distributed by National Geographic in partnership with Bloomberg Philanthropies. The city of Columbus received a grant from the Bloomberg Philanthropies to assist in developing strategies to address climate change. We are inviting the City to participate in a panel discussion and Q&A after the film to share information about local plans to reduce greenhouse gases. In addition, local community groups will be invited to share their vision about a Green New Deal and what it will look like in Columbus. Speakers will include: Cathy Cowan Becker, leader of the local Sierra Club’s Ready for 100 campaign; and Sean Fabb-Soto, OSU student and leader of the local Sunrise Movement Hub. Additional speakers will be announced. Free tickets are available now on Eventbrite. Updates will be made on Facebook.
